Hello Family & Friends,

On Sunday evening July 11, 2010, Nicole and Jared's beloved Chanel was in the front yard when she was viciously attacked by a neighbor's pit bull.  Nicole was present when the attack happened, and courageously tried to rescue Chanel.  Chanel's injuries were fatal.  She died the following morning. She was only 7 years old.

If you've ever cared for and loved a pet as a child, then you know how tragic this is.  Witnessing the suffering and death of your child is a nightmare that pet parents never want to face.  Chanel was part of a loving family, and words cannot describe how much they miss her.

This page was set up to support Nicole, Jared, Tinker Belle, Coco, and Khia during this time.  Your condolences for Nicole and Jared are greatly appreciated.  Please scroll down and post a comment for them to read.

Center picture is Chanel on her 7th birthday. She loved squeaky balls and enjoyed popcorn.

Sincerely, Michelle and Jennifer

I am so sorry to hear about Chanel. As a pet owner and animal lover myself, I certainly understand how Nicole and Jared may be feeling for losing one of their babies. Hope you cherish all the memories of Chanel. I'm sure she misses you all too. Best, Silvia

How wonderful to have friends who care so much for our non-human friends; our pets are also family members.

I will picture Chanel sending love your way from that mysterious heaven that surrounds us. Keep thoughts of her vital days close!

Hello Nicole & Jared,

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I learned from your cousin Michelle how one could develop a very deep attachment to a family pet and I can only hope that you find peace and consolation from the memories of happy times.

Your uncle Oddie (engko of your mom)

My heart goes out to the both of you in losing Chanel. Always remember the presence that she brought into a room and the love that she showed to those she considered family members.

She is so adorable in her pictures. I did not have the honor of knowing her - for it is an honor when a dog befriends you - but I am sure she brought much joy into her humans' lives, as well as her canine family members'.

We wish you and your dogs the best during this hard time. We can only imagine the loss of a loved one through such tragedy. Our society does not need yet another irresponsible pit bull owner. It looks like you have many good memories of Chanel. Our hearts go out to you.
